Something Major’s 2021 Summer Reading List
Great news: summer isn’t over yet and there is still time to add these three great books to your reading list! Here’s what I’m obsessed with this summer and why:
BRAG BETTER by Meredith Fineman
Let me be clear: I am a busy working mom of 2 under 5, and yet somehow last summer I managed to devour all 280+ pages of this book in just 36 hours. THAT is how good this book is!
Required reading: for anybody who wants to be known for their work (not just wish their work spoke for itself) or who doesn't feel comfortable talking about how awesome they are.
TIME SMART by Dr. Ashley Whillans
I am such "a Morgan." If you don't know what that means you are missing out on one of the best books I've read this year. Written by a Harvard Business School professor who studies how busy people use (and misuse) time, Dr. Whillans' theory of "time affluence" has been GAME CHANGING for me.
Required reading: for who feels too busy or tells themself they'll have more time tomorrow.
PLAYING BIG by Tara Mohr
You won't read a thing in here about managing people or P&L, but I truly believe this book is the bible for women's leadership. I read this book years ago in my corporate career, and re-read it for the third time this year when I studied with Tara as part of a master class for coaches.
Required reading: for any woman who wants to live with more purpose, happiness, and confidence.
