Why are we so hard on ourselves? And is it helping or hurting our performance at work?

For most of us, our self-judgement and self-doubt take the form of our “inner critic.” It keeps our brain buzzing with chatter about why we’re not good enough, why we might fail or be rejected, and how others will view us... and it's exhausting!

While self-awareness is important, we run into problems when our inner critic becomes too chatty. Or, when we can’t distinguish between the inner critic’s version of the story and the truth.
